Cookies & Device Storage
Last updated: 16 September 2026
This page explains what TattLink stores on your device — cookies and similar storage on the website at tatt.link, and the equivalent in the mobile app.
TattLink is run by ATORIE PTY LTD (ACN 696 018 890, ABN 51 696 018 890).
The short version
We do not advertise, and we do not track you across other websites. There are no advertising networks on TattLink, no tracking pixels, no third-party analytics. What we store is there to keep you signed in, remember your preferences, and make the site easier to use.
The website does not set its own first-party cookies. Sign-in and the items below use other browser storage (and, when you use maps or payments, Google’s or Stripe’s own cookies).
What the website stores
To keep you signed in. Firebase Authentication keeps your session in the browser (IndexedDB) so you do not have to log in on every page. This one is strictly necessary — block it and you cannot use an account.
To make the header load instantly. A small snapshot of your display name, username, profile picture, and whether you are a client, artist, or studio. It does not include your email, phone number, or date of birth. It is cleared when you sign out.
An in-progress booking. If you start booking a tattoo and close the tab, we keep that draft on this computer for your account only — including the description and any reference photos you added — so you can pick up where you left off. Another person who signs in on the same computer does not see it. Signing out clears it.
An in-progress sign-up. If you start joining TattLink and leave part-way through, we keep the details you already typed (such as email, date of birth, and phone) plus an anonymous progress id so we can see which step people reach. We never store your password. That draft is thrown away after 24 hours, when you finish joining, or when you sign in.
Which studio you are acting as. If you manage a studio, this browser tab remembers which studio you switched into. It lasts only while this tab is open.
Preferences and browsing. The area you are looking at on the artists and studios pages, your recent searches, artists and studios you recently viewed, your light or dark preference, and whether distances are shown in kilometres or miles. These stay until you clear site data.
Google Maps. If you open the studio map or use address search, Google may set its own cookies or storage, as described in the Google Privacy Policy. The map only asks for your device location when you tap the “show my location” control. See Maps.
Stripe. On payment screens and payout setup, Stripe sets what it needs to process a card safely and detect fraud. See stripe.com/privacy.
What the app stores
The app does not use website cookies. It keeps a small amount of data on your phone:
- your sign-in session, so you stay logged in
- a copy of your own profile, and of your own bookings and messages, so the app opens fast and you can still read them with no signal
- the area you are browsing, and your light or dark preference
- if you are part-way through signing up, your progress — never your password
The cached bookings and messages are a copy for display only. They are cleared when you sign out or switch accounts.
Why there is no cookie banner
Australian law does not require one, and we do not use the kind of storage a banner exists to warn you about — no advertising, no cross-site tracking, no profiling by third parties. Everything above is either necessary to run the service or a convenience you can clear yourself.
If we ever add analytics or advertising, we will ask before setting anything that is not necessary, and this page will change first.
Clearing it
On the website: signing out clears your session, your cached profile snapshot, any in-progress booking draft, and any in-progress sign-up draft. To clear the rest (browsing area, recent searches, recently viewed, and appearance), clear site data for tatt.link in your browser settings.
In the app: signing out clears your cached profile, bookings and messages. Deleting the app removes everything.
Blocking storage entirely will stop sign-in, bookings and payments from working.
