Maps & Studio Listings

Last updated: 5 September 2026

TattLink shows a map of tattoo studios, and lets you search for an address when you set a browsing area or add a studio. This page explains where that map data comes from, what appears on it, and — if your studio is on it and you did not put it there — how to get it removed.

TattLink is run by ATORIE PTY LTD (ACN 696 018 890, ABN 51 696 018 890).

Powered by Google

The map, the pins, the address search and the geocoding are provided by Google Maps Platform, including the Maps SDK, the Maps JavaScript API, Places and Geocoding.

Map tiles, imagery and business information supplied by Google remain Google's. TattLink is not Google Maps and does not claim to be. Using the map is also subject to:

When you type an address into TattLink — setting your browsing area, adding a studio address, or searching the map — that text is sent to Google to be matched against a place. We do that through our own servers, so Google receives the search but not your TattLink account.

Two kinds of pin

TattLink studios are businesses with a TattLink account. Someone from that studio created it, wrote the description, chose the photographs and controls what it says.

Unclaimed studios are shown as muted pins. These are tattoo studios we found through Google. Nobody from these businesses has signed up, been contacted, or agreed to be listed. They are clearly marked as unclaimed so you can tell the difference, and they show only basic details: business name, address, phone, website and opening hours, as Google reports them.

We show them because a map of tattoo studios that only had the ones already using TattLink would not be much of a map. But we are conscious that it means listing businesses who did not ask to be listed — hence this page.

If your studio is listed and you did not list it

Email privacy@tatt.link and we will remove it. You do not need to prove anything, explain why, or create an account. Tell us the studio name and address and we will take the pin down.

Removal is permanent. We keep a note that the listing was removed so our regular Google refresh does not put it back.

If you would rather correct it than remove it, tell us what is wrong and we will fix it. Bear in mind the details come from Google, so a correction at the source — through your Google Business Profile — will hold everywhere, not just here.

If you would rather take it over, you can claim the listing in the TattLink app. Once we have verified you represent the business, the listing becomes a real studio profile you control, and everything on it is yours to change.

Where the information comes from and how long we keep it

We fetch listings from Google Places when people browse a part of the map we have not seen recently, and we refresh what we hold on a scheduled job. Listings that Google reports as permanently closed are hidden.

We keep the details described above — name, address, coordinates, phone, website, opening hours and the open or closed status — for as long as the listing is on the map, refreshed on that schedule. If you ask us to remove a listing, we delete it.

For sole traders and owner-operated studios, a business phone number and address may also be personal information about a person. We have written more about that, and about the choices available to you, in the studio directory section of the Privacy Policy.

People waiting for a studio to join

Signed-in TattLink users can register interest in an unclaimed studio joining, and we show a count of how many are waiting. We show the number only — never who they are.

If the studio later joins TattLink, we let those people know once, and then delete the record of their interest. If a listing is removed, the interest records go with it.

Your location

The area you are browsing is stored on your own device — in your browser on the website, on your phone in the app. It is separate from the address on your profile, and changing one does not change the other. Signing out clears it in the app.

"You are here" on the map only appears if you allow your browser or phone to share your location, and only while you are looking at the map. We use it to draw a pin and centre the view. We do not store your coordinates, and we do not track you in the background.

You can turn location off in your browser or device settings at any time. The map still works — it just starts on the area you chose rather than where you are.

What we do not do

We do not sell location information. We do not use the map to build a picture of where you go. We do not run advertising on the map. And we do not use Google's business data outside the map — you will not find it in search results, in exports, or anywhere else on TattLink.
