Acceptable Use

Last updated: 7 September 2026

These are the rules for using TattLink. They form part of the Terms of Use, and they apply to everyone — clients, artists and studios alike.

TattLink is run by ATORIE PTY LTD (ACN 696 018 890, ABN 51 696 018 890).

The short version: be honest about who you are, only post work and photographs you have the right to post, treat people the way you would in a studio, and do not use TattLink to arrange or promote anything illegal.

Who these rules protect

Tattooing is close-quarters work. Clients show their bodies to strangers, describe things they may not have told anyone, and hand over money before they have met the artist. Artists put their portfolio, their reputation and their income on a platform they do not control.

Both of those only work if the rules are clear and we actually enforce them.

What is not allowed

Being someone you are not

Do not impersonate another person, artist or studio, or claim work you did not do. Do not create an account for a business you are not entitled to represent, or claim a studio listing that is not yours.

Do not pretend to be a TattLink staff member, and do not create a new account to get around a suspension.

Passing off other people's work

Do not post someone else's tattoo, flash or design as your own. Do not post a client's tattoo as your work if you did not do it.

If you post a photograph you did not take, you need permission from the person who did. If you post a design you did not draw, you need permission from whoever did. Every time you post, we ask you to confirm you have the right to — that confirmation has to be true.

Reporting stolen work uses the Stolen work reason. Copyright complaints, counter-notices and what happens to repeat infringers are covered in Copyright & Takedown.

Posting photographs of people without their agreement

A tattoo photograph is a photograph of somebody's body. Before you post one, the person in it has to be comfortable with it being published on a public profile that anyone can find.

Never post an intimate image of anyone without their clear agreement. Never post one to threaten, punish or embarrass someone — that is a criminal offence in Australia as well as a breach of these rules, and we will act on it immediately.

If a photograph of you has been posted without your agreement, email report@tatt.link and we will take it down while we look into it.

Harassment and abuse

Do not threaten, intimidate, stalk or pile on. Do not send unwanted sexual messages, or make comments about someone's body that are not about the tattoo work.

Do not contact someone who has blocked you, or use another account to reach them.

Disagreeing with a review is fine. Going after the person who wrote it is not.

Hate

No content that attacks or demeans people because of race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, disability, disease, age, sex, gender identity or sexual orientation. That includes hate symbols and slogans, including as tattoo designs.

Historical, educational and cover-up context matters — an artist showing a cover-up of a hate symbol is doing something useful. Posting the same symbol as work you are proud of is not.

Anything involving minors

TattLink is 18+. Do not create an account if you are under 18, and do not help anyone under 18 to have one.

Nothing sexual involving anyone under 18, in any form, ever. No exceptions, no context, no fiction. We remove it, ban permanently, and report it to the authorities.

Do not post photographs of children, including your own, on a public profile.

If you believe someone on TattLink is under 18, use the Underage user reason or email report@tatt.link.

Sexual content

Tattoos on the body are the point of this platform, and nudity in tattoo photography is sometimes unavoidable. That is fine when the tattoo is the subject.

What is not fine: explicit sexual content, content where the tattoo is incidental to nudity, and using TattLink to solicit sex or sexual services.

Fraud and money

Do not take deposits with no intention of doing the work. Do not push people off TattLink to avoid the booking process, then leave them without protection.

Do not misrepresent your prices, experience, qualifications, licensing or insurance. Do not use stolen cards, do not launder money, and do not raise chargebacks for work you actually received.

Do not offer anything in exchange for a positive review, or retaliate against someone who leaves a negative one.

Health and safety

Artists must comply with the health, hygiene, licensing and registration requirements that apply where they work. Do not offer tattooing from unlicensed premises where a licence is required.

Do not give medical advice you are not qualified to give. Aftercare guidance from your artist is expected — diagnosing a client's condition is not.

Do not offer to tattoo anyone under 18, regardless of what their parents say. In Victoria it is against the law even with parental consent, and other states restrict it.

Spam and manipulation

No bulk unsolicited messages, no promotion unrelated to tattooing, no engagement farming, no fake accounts, no vote or review manipulation.

Do not scrape TattLink, or use bots or automated tools against it. Do not attempt to break, overload or gain unauthorised access to any part of the platform, or probe other people's accounts.

Illegal activity

Do not use TattLink to arrange, promote or carry out anything illegal, or to sell regulated goods.

Reporting something

Every profile, post, booking and conversation has a report option. You choose the closest reason:

Inappropriate content · Stolen work · Harassment · Impersonation · Fraud · Spam · Underage user · Artist no-show · Other

Tell us what happened in your own words — the detail is what makes a report actionable.

Your report is confidential. The person you report never finds out who reported them. Our moderation team can see it, and we may need to describe what was reported when we explain a decision, but we do not identify you.

Do not file false reports. Reporting someone out of spite, or to damage a competitor, is itself a breach of these rules.

In an emergency, or if someone is in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services first. In Australia that is 000.

What we do about it

We look at every report. What happens next depends on what was done, whether it was deliberate, and whether it has happened before.

  • We remove the content, and tell the person which rule it broke.
  • We restrict features — for example turning off messaging or posting for a period.
  • We suspend the account, temporarily, while we look into something or as a consequence.
  • We ban the account permanently, for serious breaches or repeated ones.
  • We take no action, if the content does not actually break a rule.

Some things go straight to a permanent ban with no warning: sexual content involving minors, credible threats of violence, sharing intimate images without consent, and serious fraud.

If we suspend or ban you, you will see a notice when you try to use TattLink. Where we can, we will tell you what rule was broken. We will not always be able to explain the detail, because doing so can identify the person who reported you or interfere with an investigation.

If you report something, we will tell you when it has been dealt with. You will see the outcome — actioned or dismissed — but not what we did to the other person's account.

Appealing a decision

If you think we got it wrong, email report@tatt.link from the address on your account with:

  • your username
  • what was removed, restricted or suspended
  • why you think the decision was wrong

Someone who was not involved in the original decision will review it. We aim to respond within 7 days, and we will tell you the outcome and the reason.

You can appeal once per decision. If new information turns up later — a copyright claim is withdrawn, or a mistaken identity is cleared up — send it to us and we will look again regardless.

Bans for sexual content involving minors are not appealable.

Money and bookings during a suspension

If your account is suspended or banned while you have bookings in progress:

  • Confirmed appointments are cancelled. The client is refunded the deposit in full. TattLink is the party cancelling — the usual 48-hour / 24-hour cancellation windows do not apply, and nobody forfeits.
  • Requests and offers that are still in progress are cancelled, and any deposit is refunded in full.
  • Money already earned for completed work is still paid out on the normal schedule. If that booking is itself under investigation, the payout is held (still owed — it is not taken away) until we release it or refund it.
  • If the person suspended or banned is the artist, those cancellations do not count against their job success figure. That was our decision, not theirs.

We do not keep anyone's money as a punishment.

If we lift a suspension, held payouts that are no longer under investigation are released onto the normal payout schedule. Anything still under review stays held until an admin decides.

If the rules change

We will update this page and change the date at the top. If a change materially affects what you are allowed to do, we will tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect.
